TRON Particles Disc is a real-time audiovisual work that transforms a visitor’s movement into a field of glowing cyan particles. A webcam tracks the body and hands, creating a digital double whose light trails fade into a black space. The particles also react to the music, adding another layer of movement to the image.
Raising a hand summons a luminous disc of concentric rings, surrounded by swirling cyan streaks. The disc follows the hand; a pinch changes the intensity of its trails, while a throwing gesture sends it across the screen. Built with TouchDesigner, MediaPipe and GLSL shaders, the work uses a webcam, computer and projector or LED wall. The visitor’s body is the interface—no controllers or wearables required.
